Summer brings plenty of buzz to the city of Montreal. We see new spots popping up a little bit everywhere, but there are three new cafe places that are must tries this summer in our Old Port CAF MTL
The newest spot brought to you by Montreal's favourite Paul Desbaillets, creator of Burgundy Lion brands Burgundy Lion, Brit and Chips, Bag and Bishop and others like their signature sauces. Unique to this location, Paul calls the spot and ode to his dad and his signature homemade ice cream. The little quaint hideaway in the old port welcomes tourists, coffee hoppers and locals. Their hard wood floors, original fireplace and stone mixed with the newly added white polished tiling created the perfect old montreal combo of old and new. CAF's secret weapon? Their awesome custom brew made just for them and acquisition of the renown italian barista Piero also known as Baristello. Check it out!
Marche Des Eclusiers
The location for the Mache has always been a big drawing card to tourists, locals and anyone in between. Located at the end of McGill on de la Commune, just on the water, this building is open and inviting to everyone, even dogs which of course I love! They are a great place to grab a coffee and breakfast. Marche Des Eclusiers also has Nectar a juice and smoothie shop, Eileen fresh water seafood bar, La Petite Boulangerie, some fresh produce, and other healthy grocery buys you can normally find at a market or event health section of the super market. They also have a great wine spot on the second floor overlooking the canal. It features some great local wines from Quebec! Visit here next sunday stroll and grab a coffee.
Crew Collective is an old bank converted into a common work space and coffee shop. The space located at 360 Rue - Saint-Jacques, just steps away from square victoria is a complete hidden gem. Not only do they have amazing coffee, open faced toast and a spectacular setting, but they too have managed to rounded up one of Montreal's finest baristas Jesse - otherwise known as Notorious Barista on instagram. The food is incredible, the coffee fabulous and concept made to stay a while. How to common work space functions is that there are some rooms for everyday use and others that have to be reserved.
