Ever since I lived in NYC, Cinco de Mayo has been one of my favourite holidays. First of all I love Mexican food and I don’t mind a little bit of tequila here and there, but I also somehow have always had the feeling that the holiday really kicks off the summer festive season. With that said, we all know that guac and chips can add up in calories really quick and totally bust your pre summer health grove, so here are five ways to cut calories this Cinco de Mayo… and for celebrations all summer long!
Smoothies have always been a key part of my day. My routine that I often share on social media consists of waking up, hitting the gym and having my morning smoothie. Whether that’s before or after my work out always changes, but the one thing that doesn’t change is my consistency in Taking 10, a term referring to 10 minutes of ME TIME! The importance of taking this time lies in our ability to tune into how we feel, so no matter what time of day that is, finding something you love in your routine that allows you to ground yourself and connect back to YOU is what Taking 10 is all about. You can try Taking 10 too with one of my new favourite smoothie recipes below.
We've certainly all heard about fast food, from microwavable to the mega chains we see across every city and country. Right away when we think of the "fast" concept we think of unhealthy alternatives that tend to cut corners. Not every fast food option is unhealthy but for the most part the trend has gone that way. So right away the idea of “fast food" is a scary concept. But let's switch that around and think of what is known as the slow food movement? Slow food is gaining in popularity, but was actually founded back in 1986 in Italy by Carlo Petrini. Thanks to brands like Stonemill Slow Crafted Bakehouse we are now able to get “slow food” in grocery stores near us. Stonemill makes quality baked bread that are not just for bakeries or fancy dinners out. Slow food is about caring for every step of the process from sourcing to consuming.
So lets get down to it….
What is slow food?
Well there are a few things that really outline the movement but ultimately it's about slowing down the process of making what you’re eating, caring about what's going into it and how it arrives on your plate!
1. The food is good for you. The rule of thumb is that what is made as “slow food” is healthy food that has real ingredients that help to fuel your body.
2. What you’re eating is full of clean ingredients. This means that most slow food products are organic, have less preservative and pesticides than what you would usually find in your grocery store brands.
3. There is a philanthropic side to the movement. It involves fair trade and sourcing ingredients from producers and farmers who take pride in their business. The process makes sure to give back to the communities they source from and that ethical treatment is ensured on site.
4. Less travel for your food to reach your plate. This means lowering the carbon footprint that is coming from the impact of your consumption. It also means that local communities continue to grow.
5. Protects the food and the recipes. This is an important one because so many creators are being copied with cut corners and cheaper versions of their product. Slow food helps protect the original makers of these wonderful additions to your kitchen.
Not only is Stonemill available in local Canadian grocery stores making it so easy to grab a healthy loaf of bread anytime, but it is also 100% made in Canada of Quebec oats and grains! You’re contributing to local businesses, farmers and eliminating the carbon footprint! Now thats a process and snack to get behind.

I’ve struggled to keep my energy levels up in the shorter days of winter my entire life and it’s impacted my routine, working out, staying motivated and keeping up with the craziness that is Christmas, New Years and everything in-between. And just when you think you’ll be receiving some downtime to recuperate after the holidays, you will be facing the shortest and coldest days of the year head on.
In addition to putting more focus on my health and wellness routine, I decided to take an additional small step towards supporting my health when this holiday season kicked off. It seems really simple, but so many people forget this daily… and sadly, myself included - VITAMINS! Taking a daily multivitamin can help support and maintain your health and complement your healthy routine.
I’m always in the kitchen especially over the holidays having friends over. Plus I just really like to cook for my family and Trevor. It’s so fun to get them to try out different recipes. This one was a favourite so I’ve decided to share it!
I used the T-Fal MultiCook and Grains and honestly it’s so easy to use. I've had it for about a year now and it comes in handy all the time. All you have to do is follow the screen on the machine. You select your setting for what kind of ingredients you are cooking and a built-in AI will help you out with the rest, like how much water and how much rice for the amount of people you are serving. The T-Fal MultiCook and Grains has a Patented Nutri+ technology which allows you to cook nutritious meals while preserving nutrients in your food in a one pot cooking experience with a variety of cooking functions.
Here is the recipe I made:
Wild Red Rice with Turmeric, Ginger and Spicy Salmon
For 2 people
Make wild red rice in the T-Fal MultiCook and Grains
1/8 teaspoon of powdered turmeric
1/8 teaspoon of powdered ginger
1 Tbsp of olive oil
Add salmon to the amount of your preference
& finally a few dashes of hot sauce of your choice
To prepare the salmon:
Bake a small piece of salmon in the oven until it is cooked all the way through and well done at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes. You can then shred the salmon into small pieces to easily prepare with the rice, adding in the hot sauce before or after mixing with the rice.
Mix everything together with a dash more olive oil and ready to serve.
This recipe is perfect on its own, on a bed of lettuce, in a taco or with a side of steamed veggies like bok choy and broccoli.

I’m totally a fan of anything pumpkin and holiday flavoured …. the only problem is I can’t have most of the flavoured mixes because of the chemicals and sweeteners that they add in. Even if I wanted to have a “cheat” I feel terrible and thats not worth it.
To combat the craving I made my own recipe that improvised flavours to get something clean and pretty close to the desired taste crazing we all have this time of year! I wanted to come up with yummy but also healthy alternative to the traditional pumpkin spice latte we all love. And off course a little bit of collagen!
Here is what I came up with:
Almond / Cashew / Coconut Milk
I wanted to share with all of you a part of my e-book that is one of my favourites.
It’s about Sugar and why its so important to cut it the F out!!!
As we do this 25 day cleanse I think its important to share more and more information on WHY we cut out stuff like sugar and dairy. Its super important to be educated and then make the right choices for you moving forward from the cleanse. When I did this last year I cut out out cheese and never went back!
SO HERE YOU GO - STRAIGHT FROM THE FIT FATALE E-BOOK:
I cannot think of a better place to start than sugar. You are losing your mind due to a white, powdery drug that you keep giving yourself. One of the keys to controlling your appetite, mood, and life is regulating blood sugar. Blood sugar is like a rollercoaster. Every time we pump sugar into our bodies - and trust me it happens way more often than we would like to believe, we are sending our bodies on a sugar spike. But like all ups comes a big down. How do we survive it? Well, we reach for more sugar.
I love doing cleanses. They have so many benefits to our health, but I also love the idea of a personal challenge. Of saying no I wont do that and sticking to it. And then of course… once you’ve made it the first few days of suffering without sugar and all those other things we get addicted to… it’s like, well whats the point of breaking now. We’ve suffered so it better be for something. Slowly and slowly you start to feel less cravings and just feel freakin awesome. I cant wait to watch the next group of TFF challenge girls do the same.
Okay so I know that starting your day with greens is usually a great way to boost your energy and mood, but as the weather gets cooler I’m craving more yummy cozy flavours like chocolate and peanut butter in my smoothies.
I cant be the only one!
Here is one of my go to recipes including Vital Proteins Chocolate Blackberry collagen protein powder. It’s so good mixed with a bit of peanut butter. Filling and full of collagen, protein, antioxidants and vitamins.
My typical morning consists of waking up, hitting the gym and one damn good collagen matcha latte.
I often share my recipe (or at least the fact that I'm drinking it) on my instagram stories... like any good health obsessed instagrammer.. But I have never put together a full recipe video for you guys.
SO - here you have it! My Vital Proteins Collagen Matcha Latte of the moment.
In honour of the fourth of July, I've been strategizing about what type of healthy and light day cocktails I can consume for the celebration. I'm currently in NYC and since I brought with me my favourite to go packs of Vital Proteins Beauty Water I wanted to share with you all this video of my Mom and I making skinny spritzers together back on Mother's Day. They were bomb!
Here is my favourite recipe this month!
It's fresh and easy to make for those sweet and energized spring morning cravings.
Why I love it so much? This recipe is full of collagen, healthy fats to keep you feeling full and of course matcha that will naturally give you an energy boost and wake you up for your day.
There is nothing I love more than a company that has a great product, foundation for health and wellness and a great story. When I first started writing about companies on my blog it was always about “the story”. I didn’t have as strong of a common message as health, so with happiness being the underlying tone to the content I focused on who was behind every brand and how it brought the world to a better reality. After all, changing anything on a bigger scale comes from the route of where it all started, that one person’s story.
The newest hot spot in town is actually healthy. YAY! Barley Cereal Bar may have been popping up on your Instagram feed the past few weeks since opening and rightfully so. With a menu that includes lots of healthy appealing options to us TFF type girls, I had to check it out for myself (and all of you!). Seriously though, so many of the new trendy places that open up in Montreal aren't always the healthiest options, so I rarely get to rave about them but after trying Barley and gracing them with my usual skepticism (the overly enthusiastic healthy investigation, what has sugar, dairy, gluten etc), I am happy to say not only did Barley pass the test, but I was actually rather impressed by the menu.
Not only was the staff very patient & knowledgable, the space is also dog friendly and welcoming of all creative minds to enjoy a peaceful but trendy atmosphere to work, chat or simply enjoy. The cereal bar has much more than cereal with a menu that includes the likes of open faced toasts, salads, chia and smoothie bowls as well as their newly launched oatmeal which we had the pleasure of getting a sneak taste of. They also offer an array of healthy lattes like matcha and turmeric (my faves) and also beet that I was happy to try (and pink anything I am a fan of).
The space also includes old school cartoons playing in the background, wifi if you need a place to park and get sh*t done, an open space that acts as an office/ sporadic pop up shop and an event space below. The pop up shop over the weekend was put on by a Montreal local with her brand Her Must, an online store for women featuring her own brand Her Must Swimwear. Huge fan of the line and the creator FYI so check it out.
You should absolutely pay this spot a visit on your next St Henri adventure. My suggestions on the menu; the new castle smoothie bowl, orange zest oatmeal, and a beet latte.... preferably along side a puppy and good company. The recipe to a happy life!
Check the out on Instagram here or via their contact information below.

One of my all time favourite healthy meal prep companies Agnosante has just moved to a new kitchen, revamped their menu (which includes launching both breakfast and a new kids menu), and has hired a nutritionist on staff, Patrick Owen. Hiring a full time nutritionist was a very strategic move on the part of Alexandros Bakakis, founder of Agnosante as well as certified personal trainer and naturopath. As a meal prep company that is based on feeding their clients the top nutrition to fuel their busy lives, a nutritionist gives peace of mind and reasurance in your diet decisions.
I sat down with Patrick to ask him a few questions on how he got involved with Agnosante and what makes this company different than others.
Tell us a bit about your background and why you decided to go into nutrition?
I began my academic career in ethnobotany - the study of plants used by traditional people - and traveled to Tibet, Papua New Guinea, and northern Canada to investigate the efficacy of medicinal plants on chronic disease. I transitioned into the field of nutrition pretty naturally, since the distinction between food and medicine is very nuanced among traditional cultures. In each of these places however, I observed a dietary pattern that often contradicted what I had learned in school. Contrary to Canada's Food Guide, they either ate too much fat, too much meat, too much salt, or not enough fruits and vegetables. Yet, among those who followed a traditional diet, the incidence of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease or cancer was practically non-existent.
I had become fascinated with the evolution of the human diet and set out to find the best ways to eat, sleep, move and live in accordance with the way our body’s were designed. I’m the guy who will help you figure out where you went off track and guide you back to the way nature intended!
For those who are unfamiliar with the concept, how does AgnoSante work?
What makes AgnoSante unique among meal-delivery companies is their emphasis on whole foods that are designed to promote optimal human health using an evolutionary, functional model. The beef is grass-fed, the fish is wild-caught, the vegetables are organic, and the meals are gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, sugar-free and non-GMO. These are the kinds of foods our great-grandparents used to eat and what our ancestors thrived on. It brings nutrition back to its roots: simple, unprocessed, nutritious and health-promoting. In today’s hectic world, many of us don’t have the time to buy groceries or cook. Agnosante ensures that you get the best nutrition possible in the most convenient way possible: by walking right up to your doorstep and handing you your custom-portioned meals.
What makes AgnoSante special?
AgnoSante makes nutrition simple, not only in the way the meals are designed, but in the way the meals are delivered. Convenience is definitely not something we equate with wholesome home cooking. I encourage my clients to prepare their meals ahead of time and store them in Tupperware containers to make sure that they stick to their nutrition plan. The truth is however, that many people don’t have the time to go grocery shopping and cook their own food, or they simply don’t know HOW to cook. One of the hardest things to do is to change someone’s dietary habit. With AgnoSante, you don’t need to learn how to cook, how to meal prep, or how to read nutrition labels on foods. They take all the guesswork out of the equation and deliver your fresh, homemade meals right to your home or workplace, twice a week. Even better, they provide meals with different portions of protein to help you achieve your health goals, whether it’s to lose fat or pack on muscle.
What do you feel is the biggest misconception about a healthy lifestyle and how does AgnoSante reconcile that misconception?
The biggest misconception, in my opinion, is that dietary fat makes you fat. Many of us accept that avocado, olive oil and coconut oil are healthy since they come from plants. But as a species, we’ve thrived on wild game, fish and seafood. The type of fat is also important. Industrial vegetable oils like margarine, corn, soybean, cottonseed, and canola are a recent introduction to the human diet and are associated with an increase in the development of inflammatory disorders. Farm animals that are fed grains and corn instead of grass develop a fatty acid profile that also promotes inflammation.
AgnoSante recognizes the importance of dietary fat in the proper functioning of our nervous system, our hormone balance, our digestive health, and our energy metabolism. They’ve chosen to use grass-fed beef and wild-caught fish which are naturally higher in healthy omega-3 fats and lower in pro-inflammatory omega-6. They also avoid using cheap vegetable oils like soy and corn oil. They’re choice of dietary fats is only one of the many aspects of AgnoSante that I love.
What are some of your biggest success stories from your services at AgnoSante?
AgnoSante and I can talk about nutrition and health until we’re blue in the face. While people might be interested in becoming more knowledgable, what they really want is to put that knowledge into action. My clients want to know what to eat, how much to eat, and how frequently they should eat. With AgnoSante, all I need to know is a person’s portion size and the rest is easy. It’s guaranteed success. My clients have achieved significant fat loss by regularly using AgnoSante’s services. If you leave the guesswork up to us, all we need for you to do is eat. We’ll make sure you get the right amount of food, the right portion sizes and the right snacks you need to reach your health goals.
Why do you think adding a nutritionist (nutrition expert) on to the Agno team is crucial?
Agnosante is invested in the health of their clients and knows that wellness goes beyond nutrition. Other lifestyle factors such as sleep, stress management, and exercise have a profound impact on health. By adding a functional nutrition expert, AgnoSante provides a one-stop-shop for a person’s entire health needs. Along with a customized meal delivery service, you can expect to get helpful lifestyle strategies on ways to get better sleep, beat cravings, and stave off fatigue.
A functional nutrition expert can also help identify potentially problematic foods and ensure that AgnoSante meals are catered to a person’s specific needs. Not everyone can digest foods like broccoli, cabbage, or beans. Customization is therefore an important part of AgnoSante’s strategy to help as many people as they can.
Sweet or Salty? Ugh. Sweet.
Breakfast or Dinner? Breakfast. At every meal if it were up to me.
Drink of Choice: Coffee. Extra black, extra bitter and extra no sugar.
Cheat Meal: Sushi. And a profound weakness for anything that contains chocolate and peanut butter together.
Food you eat everyday: Eggs. In any style and from any bird.
Go-to Healthy Recipe: Grilled salmon and blueberries with asparagus. This would be my final meal if I were on death row.
I rarely talk about weight loss because I feel it sends me down an unhealthy road I once traveled. Health is not about weight loss. Some people may struggle with body image, may wish to lose weight (or its possible that they need to) but I rarely talk about loss. The reason is that I spent some 8 or so years only thinking about loss when it came to health. I spend so much of my life with a focus on “I need to lose weight” instead of “I want to feel healthy” “I want to glow from the inside out” “I want to radiate good energy”…. I just wanted to be skinny for an event, a boy, a dress. I now choose to eat, work out, and make healthy decisions to feel full and satisfied, to feel happiness and love. These feel me up more than any feeling of emptiness, hunger or lose clothing could. And guess what, they do always say once you stop stress and stop trying, it comes naturally.... in work, relationships and weight loss. Stop pushing the way that doesn't work and follow the natural flow of life and let it surprise you.
There are a lot of people that still ask about diet routine so I thought I would address the topic from a different approach and tell you how I lost body fat, built muscle, controlled my hunger and found a routine that worked for me. Complete disclosure, this doesn't mean it will work for all of you, but I do get asked rather often what works for me, what I eat and how to lose weight and gain muscle.... so here you have it from my perspective. (And as my body and mind change with each new step in life... this may change, but for the past few months It has been my routine and it has worked!)
I will tell you very briefly about my standard diet. I have been a pescatarian for almost 15 years. I stopped eating red meat because it creeped me out. I was bothered by the fact that it seemed normal to eat animal flesh as your meal. I cut it out when I was about 12. Being so young my parents made me keep eating fish, which is how the pescatarian thing came about. Fast forward to only a few months ago and I decided to cut out dairy because of the hormonal imbalance my body was going through. I also stay away from seafood now to ease the digestion process and also for the reasons of hormones. That being said, I never want to be the most difficult guest at a dinner party (even though I probably am!) so I never call myself vegan. If I am in a situation I will be okay with eating seafood someone cooked for me, or if in Greece I won't say no to a greek salad with authentic feta. I also take vital proteins every day in my smoothie or coffee which is not vegan. That's why I don’t throw around the label of vegan easily, I just say I am meat and dairy free 99% of the time.
To compliment this, I also cut out added sugar. If it creeps in every now and then I totally feel the low after the sugar spike, but again being so strict and stressing yourself out over it will be worse on your body. You'll release stress hormones and it will cause you to keep any weight on… plus tons of other negative side effects of cortisol. But if you decide you'll have sugar or dairy that day, decide, go for it and then move on back on track if thats what you choose. People forget that stressful thoughts like regret can play a big roll in our diet.
Additionally, I don't eat starch based carbs on the regular because these too cause a sugar spike in your blood sugar. A little life hack, regulating your blood sugar is the key to health. It regulates hunger, cravings and mood. Equals balances happiness and healthy eating! When I eat too many starch based carbs, I feel the same sluggish feeling and low that I feel when I eat sugar. Same rule applies here. Should I choose today is my day for avo-toast (which it was btw!), then by all means count me in! No regrets and no stress.
Now here is one of the most important and body fat altering changes I made in my diet to date. I follow what is called IF - intermittent fasting. Essentially it means you don't eat from 8pm at night until 12pm the next day. As you get used to the fasting time frame you can slowly push it from 12 to eventually 1 or 2 pm. I still eat 3 meals, my smoothie around 1pm, a salad around 3pm and dinner somewhere around 7pm. The time window in which you eat in may be shorter, but your calorie intake must still be normal. We are not starving ourselves by any means but rather regulating our cravings in IF. In short, what IF does is keep your body in fat burning mode. We go into detoxification and fat burning when we sleep. By keeping our body in our overnight fast, we stay in this place longer. When we do cardio fasted and take BCAA (branch chain amino acids) we also help burn fat and not muscle in this extended fast. This is what I do every morning! Keep the fast going, take BCAA’s in my water for spin class and then don't eat until my first smoothie at lunch! It may seem simple but thats because IT IS. It does take a bit of time to get used to, but you will see the results within 3-4 weeks. It will become easy to control cravings and hunger. You can also have a coffee in the morning if you wish, bulletproof or a matcha, to keep you going.
From doing this I saw a huge drop in body fat, I kept building muscle and the regulation of my blood sugar has helped promote that happy feeling you get when you're not riding a mood, sugar, or stimulant roller coaster.
Here are some of my favourite facts about Intermittent Fasting :
- Insulin drops which helps with fat burning. Insulin is what the body produces to regulate our blood sugar levels when we consume too much sugar.
- Hormones increase which is one thing to pay attention to for females. The higher level of hormone production will promote fat burning and muscle gain, however too much of a spike in hormone levels can cause women to have missed periods, skin break outs or other signs of hormone imbalances. I often suggest that we should be tricking our body as women who do IF, and only doing it 4-5 days a week and not 7 days.
- Cells repair faster when fasting as our body is in waste removal mode, aka detoxification. Ever eat too late and wake up feeling like you didn't sleep at all… maybe your stomach feels full of acid or burning? I know this happens to me when I eat too late! It's because our body starts to detoxify and rid of the waste but with only a short period to go through a process that takes all night, we are unable to finish detox and it is interrupted, leaving acids in our stomach.
- Fasting has also been linked to protecting our cells and genes to decrease the signs of aging and promote longevity and fight disease.
- Fasting can lower stress and inflammation in the body, ultimately protecting you from diseases as we know body inflammation creates welcoming environments to cancerous cells, alzheimer and other disease.
- And of course best benefit of fat loss, increased fat burn and weight loss from IF.
As I said, I don’t track my weight all that much anymore, because as I mentioned it puts me in an unhealthy mindset. I didn't use to think of weight loss as a health goal, I thought of it as as a distraction of way to hide from something.... Something I once used when I was lost at an earlier point in my life & struggling with body image issues as I've spoke about before. I now track my body fat percentage rather than weight, and since starting IF, cutting sugar and dairy, it has dropped significantly.
I wanted to share this routine with all of you as right now this has been a huge game changer. I get asked this all the time and I figured it was about time I share.
Here are some of my fave products to help you kick start your IF should you wish to give it a try!
3. MCT Oil
5. Matcha Ninja
I tested out a new flavour from Vital Proteins, the Chocolate Blackberry collagen peptide and it was amazing. Right away I knew it was going into a raw ball mix because the flavours were perfect for an energy boosting snack.
Collagen has so many benefits which is why I am always trying to sneak in Vital Proteins where ever I can.
Some of my fave benefits are:
1. Keeps you full
2. Weight Loss; cravings under control!
3. Stronger Bodies; cartilage, tendons, ligaments and bones!
4. Fewer Wrinkles and Fine Lines; increases moisture and helps fill out the skin.
5. Promotes Healthy Skin, Hair and Nails.
6. Better Digestion since the digestive track is made up of the same amino acids we find in collagen!
7. Collagen helps to add back into the body what has been stripped by mass food production!
Here is the recipe I put together and hope you enjoy!
I took the following ingredients and blended it all together in a food processor. Rolled them into balls and then rolled in a mix of the drinking chocolate and coconut.
1 cup of dates
1.5 scoops of Vital Proteins's chocolate blackberry collagen peptides
1/2 cup of fresh blackberries
1 tbsp pf Drinking Chocolate
1 tbsp all natural peanut butter
1 tbsp coconut oil
1/2 cup walnuts
1/4 cup ground flax
Bringing to you all my latest raw ball recipe for the fall, Pumpkin Apple Spice.
Yes, yes they do taste just as good as they sound.
I'm still in the middle of this 25 day detox cleanse (no added sugar, dairy, soy, meat, gluten, starch based carbs, processed foods, alcohol, coffee, unhealthy oils or fats) that is basically cutting out so many things from your diet to allow your body to naturally detoxify. Because of this I got back into cooking and making myself treats that i can know and control what is inside.
I decided to make raw balls. One of my favourite things to make because they are relatively easy as well as nutritious powerhouses when running around all day and of course to the gym. You can also make so many different flavours and play around with mixes that I never get bored... just maybe run out of ingredients!
These fall flavoured raw balls are no added sugar, vegan, gluten & soy free and basically the healthiest thing you can snack on with the fall flavours you've been craving.
Does contain coconuts and almonds.
1/2 can of pumpkin pure (1.5 cups)
1 apple (I like to use cortland)
1/4 cup of almonds
1/2 cup of dates
1/8 cup of coconut milk
1/2 cup of unsweetened shredded coconut
1 Tbsp of MCT oil
1 Tsp of Nutmeg
1/4 cup of cinnamon
Blend it all together in a food processor. It may take two batches if you have a small one at home for sauces and other blends.
Then form 12 small balls out of the mix and roll them in coating.
I did a mix of coconut, cinnamon and my fave super seed mix from Protein World. I mixed this all together on a plate and rolled the balls in them.
Place on a tray and let sit in the fridge before serving.
Great as a healthy snack for kids or yourself while on the run. Also a great healthy alternative for dinner guest who have dietary restrictions or are looking for a low calorie sugar free treat.
Enjoy and happy fall my fit fatale babes!
I have been a huge fan of Vital Proteins for the past year or so but my love for their collagen peptides grew even more after my accident back at the beginning of March. If you haven’t had a chance to read my article on sweat.com about all the benefits of Collagen I would suggest you check it out here.
Essentially collagen peptides help in healing skin, and bone health. It is vital in fitness (no pun intended) stronger bodies & bones. One a day to day Collagen keeps you full, helps with digestion, aids weight loss, promotes health skin and hair and improves the look skin with fever lines and wrinkles of course one of my faves!
I’m sharing my Five Fave product from Vital Proteins with you all. The brand is all around awesome. Their outlook on their business is to promote natural whole nutrition. Key world being natural that I of course love. They state: “There is nothing more important than ones health, and we believe the body needs and deserves high quality building blocks for life’s adventures.”
Their brand identity is something similar to my own. They aim to help people achieve their fullest and best lives, ultimately similar to my Fit Fatale girls, finding their happiest lives through health. Natural beauty is something that comes from within. Yes it’s relative to the way you treat others and the world around you, but it is so important how you feed yourself. How you feed yourself becomes the beauty you put forward. It turns into your mood, your body, your brain, your skin, your cells. Mental and physical health are all a product of what nourishment and nutrients our body gets.
Since collagen slows as we age, is stripped from food processing and is a vital thing in our beauty, youth and daily bone function, the consumption of collagen and nutrients helping in the production of collagen can be life changing in any diet. You start to glow when you take Vital Proteins. I personally did! Their beauty water and beauty supplement were the two things I had the most comments on. “How did your hair grow so fast and healthy” or “You skin looks so plump and full”.
Vital Proteins are naturally sourced from pasture raised cows in Brazil and New Zealand while their wild-cough fish in sourced from Hawaii. They put research into finding the highest quality proteins for their product and it shows in the results from taking it. Not all meat, fish … or protein supplements are made the same. Thats something important to keep in mind.
My Relationship with this brand grew so naturally, having loved the product from the moment I tried it… their cute and clean packaging doesn't hurt either! I strongly suggest trying it out to anyone looking to achieve their optimal health. That being said, here are my Five Fave from Vital Proteins.
1. Collagen: Vanilla and Coconut Collagen Peptides
For daily dose of protein & collagen
(I use in my smoothies!)
2. Supplement: Beauty Boost Supplements
For hair growth, nail growth and skin care
(I have had so many people ask me how my hair became health and has been growing so well. This has been a major attribute to that along with daily collagen in my smoothies!)
3. Beauty Waters: Cucumber Aloe
For on the go beauty care and a refreshing tasting drink!
(Great to change up your water routine and
4. Supplements: Spirulina Supplements
(I have been taking these everyday to compliment my 25 day detox! Many detox routines will suggest taking spirulina for its detoxifying benefits as well as ability to aid in weight loss, reduce stress, depression and anxiety.)
5. Greens and Veggies: Collagen Beauty Greens
For your collagen and daily dose of green power
(Love this combo because I can get collagen and also a greens boost in my morning smoothie. Drinking greens is one of the best and most effective ways of breaking your fast post cardio.)
One of my most recent fave recipes featuring Vital Proteins!

1 Cup of Coconut Milk
1 Tbsp Turmeric
2 small scoops servings of Royal Jelly
1 Tbsp of MCT Oil
1 Tbsp of Cinnamon
Warm the coconut milk up on the stove and then add all the ingredients together in the blender. The milk will blend well and will become frothy thanks to the whip mode on your device. Poor in a mug and enjoy. Top with additional cinnamon should you wish!
